Getting to the Alpes du Sud ski resorts from Aix-en-Provence

The first Alpes du Sud ski resorts are only a few hours away from the city, Aix-en-Provence. But if you are not travelling by car, you will often have to combine the train and bus, and maybe even the shuttle service once you have arrived, in order to reach your holiday accommodation.

Getting to Serre Chevalier/Briançon from Aix-en-Provence

Serre Chevalier Vallée and the Briançonnais are certainly the most accessible resorts by public transport, especially since Briançon is accessible by the SNCF. However, if your accommodation is in the Vallée de Serre Chevalier, you will have to combine this journey with a shuttle going to Serre Chevalier Vallée.

Montgenèvre <=> Aix-en-Provence

Once you have reached Briançon, by the regular bus or train link, you will have to use a shuttle service to get from Briançon to Montgenèvre. POM shuttles can pick you up at your arrival at Briançon station, or directly from Aix-en-Provence.

Risoul/Vars <=> Aix-en-Provence

To get from Aix-en-Provence to Vars or Risoul station, you must pass through Guillestre-Montdauphin station, and then get the shuttle service from here to your accommodation in Vars or Risoul.

Puy Saint Vincent <=> Aix-en-Provence

To get to Puy Saint Vincent from Aix-en-Provence involves passing through l'Argentière La Bessée, or you can must take the shuttle service from the station which goes right to the Puy Saint Vincent resort.

POM shuttles, an alternative to public transport and car-sharing

It is in order to compensate for the difficult connections between bus stations and/or SNCF that POM has put in place a private shuttle service between Aix-en-Provence and the ski resorts at Serre Chevalier/Briançon, Vars/Risoul, Montgenèvre and Puy Saint Vincent. Also note that according to availability, POM offers shared shuttle services at very reasonable prices.
